Journal Articles

Here you will find bibliographic information and brief content summaries for published articles related to the social norms approach.

Entries are grouped in two ways: by the topics described below (chronologically within each topic), or by year of publication. Please use the navigation bar to the left of this page to access information.

The Social Norms Approach : This approach includes the measurement of perceptions for a specific behavior/ attitude, as well as the actual behavior/ attitude. This methodology measures the gap between the two, and its influences on behavior.

Normative Feedback : This approach examines behavior/ attitude only. Although no perception measures are gathered as part of this approach, this may provide evidence for the importance of social norms, independently of whether or not they are misperceived.

Supporting Literature for Prevention : This consists of a body of approaches fundamental to prevention efforts, without explicitly fosing on social norms.
